Steve & Sheila Sink reside outside Kirklin, Indiana. They have two children Juanita, husband Lance, and Todd,
wife Casey, and four grandchildren Mackenzie, Keegan, Kylie and Lexi. Juanita's family lives right around the corner and Todd's family lives in Arkansas.
We started showing club lambs halfway through Juanita's 4-H career. Sheila decided to sell the cattle and start raising club lambs a few years later. We built the flock by purchasing ewes from top breeders and rams from McGolden's and Ott's. Both Mackenzie and Keegan have shown lambs we raised on the Indiana Junior Club Lamb Circuit and are having a blast!
In the fall of 2000, we were offered the opportunity to buy a small flock of Southdowns from Richard Stout, the base of the flock was B & B Howard. (We thought Mackenzie needed a smaller framed sheep to start her showing career!) Mackenzie made her debut in the show ring in 2002 at NAILE and hasn't slowed down. We have continued to build our flock of Southdowns by purchasing great rams from B & B Howard and Mapolyne Farms and a few futurity ewes for Mackenzie and Keegan. In 2009 our entire show flock consisted of sheep we have raised.
Keegan felt he was always in Mackenzie's shadow, so in the spring of 2009 Papaw Steve bought him three Horned Dorsets. Keegan and Papaw have spent the summer learning to fit, with the help of Joel Parker, and it is already paying off with Keegan's success in the show ring.
Our philosophy is sheep that produce and win, whether breeding or market. Please stop by and visit us in Central Indiana.
